Monday Musings – July 27, 2015

Dear Friends,

It’s another Monday.  But, no.  Not another  Monday.  This is a day that never has been before and never will be again!

This is the first day of a new job for someone in our church.  This is the day to get ready for surgery for someone else.  This is the birthday for one of our youth. We have a couple getting ready to leave for an extended time away in their motor home.  This is the first full day at church camp for some of our young people at one of our beautiful camps in Idaho and Oregon.  Family vacations are beginning, ending, or continuing today.  This is the day Al-Anon meets in our church, giving hope and encouragement to many. This is the day someone is going to do something hard that needs to be done, that has been put off for too long.  On this day God’s “still, small voice” will be speaking to all of us.  Some of us will be able to hear it.  Even fewer will do anything about it.  We have people in our church who are just loving life today and on the top of the world.  And we have some who find themselves in a valley of depression and heartache and it feels like things will never get any better.

God bless you on this Monday.  God has given you this day.  “This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118:24)  It’s not just another day.  It’s a once-in-a-lifetime day that God has entrusted to you because God loves you so much.  Live it well!

In Christ,

John
