Monday Musings – June 17, 2013

Dear Friends,

I’m back at my desk from the opening exercises of day 1 of Vacation Bible School.  Lots of kids, lots of energy, lots of excitement!  You who were in church yesterday know the entire church building has been transformed into one big castle.  The theme this year is “Kingdom Rock: Where Kids Stand Strong for God.”  Many of you are actively involved with VBS.  It takes a lot of willing workers to make this go.  Thank you so much!  But if you are not here during the week, I hope you will make it a special point to be here this Sunday, June 23.  Come to the 11 am service if you want to hear the VBS kids sing.  That will be where the kids and their families will be attending and we will have a full house.  We will rock the church!  If you want something a little more sedate, come at 9 am.  Or, do what I am going to do.  Come to both!  I will be talking about how we stand strong for God.  We’ll be looking at Jeremiah 9:23-24.  “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice, and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight.”

I am thankful to be part of a church that cares about kids and their families and that makes Vacation Bible School such a priority year after year after year!

In Christ,

John
