Dear Friends,

“Simply Worship” is our Sunday evening service.  It is a service specifically targeted to adults with various developmental disabilities.  Most of them come with caregivers and in wheelchairs.  Several of them cannot talk.  They have varied but limited abilities to understand.  The service is “simple” as the name implies.  Rosalina Richmond leads singing, Rochelle Killett gathers prayer requests and offers a prayer.  My wife, Helen, reads scripture.  I share a few thoughts.  Then we sing some more and move to the fellowship hall for treats.  Stop by some Sunday evening.  Everyone is welcome.  It is a special service that meets a real need. For the last few weeks, I’ve been sharing various verses from the Bible that some people have chosen as their “life verse”.  Do you have a “life verse”?  That is, do you have one verse in the Bible that is especially meaningful to you and that you keep returning to to keep you on track in your Christian walk?  Here are the four we’ve looked at in Simply Worship the last few weeks: Jeremiah 29:17  “For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” II Corinthians 5:17  “If anyone be in Christ, that one is a new creation.  The old has passed away, the new has come.” John 13:35  “By this they will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Ephesians 2:8-9  “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God — not because of works, lest anyone should boast.” I’d love to hear from you if you have a “life verse”.  It’s been fun helping our Simply Worship friends understand and appreciate the above four verses. In Christ, Pastor John Watts
